Squamish Fest Frenzy!

This summer's Squamish Fest (Aug 8, 9, 10) lineup was announced today with much fanfare. There was a media frenzy! Twitter and Facebook exploded!!! Rightfully so though, as the lineup is incredible!

Headliners are Bruno Mars, Arcade Fire, and Eminem. WOW!!! Something for everyone...almost. There will always be haters - one doesn't like Bruno Mars, one doesn't like Eminem, another dislikes Arcade Fire. But with a HOST of other days and artists to choose from, there's not much to complain about! If you don't like an artist, that would be a good time to run into town for supplies. Or a shower.

Now for the reason you're here: how do I win tickets?? Every station that plays this music will have oodles of free weekend passes to dole out. The trick is figuring out WHEN to call. So check the daily schedule - I will do my best to find out when tickets are being given away.

Sonic gave away their first tickets immediately after the announcement, and will have "a ton" more to hand out.

Peak will have tickets at 12:15 daily.

Shore will have tickets, probably on the morning show but will update when I know for sure.

CFOX will have tickets between 3 and 6 each day, on the Todd Hancock show.

Virgin will have tickets during Breakfast With Nat and Drew. I hope it's easier to win than the Newlyweddish game for those Katy Perry tickets! That was brutal!

No news from Jack, QMFM, or Beat yet, but I suspect we will hear of tix from them too. Stay tuned...

VanCity Buzz and Hello VanCity will also have tickets, so watch their FB and Twitter. I'd bet 604 Now and Georgia Straight will also have some to share.

To be honest, I don't know 80% of these bands. But I love to support local artists, and hope you do too.

Unfortunately the residents, trees, and environment of Squamish will pay dearly for this festival, so please be kind and considerate. Don't litter, keep the noise down, and be respectful. And leave it as you found it - SPECTACULAR!!!
