Which would you rather, Sonic Nation?

Would you rather enter to win a $1000 gift certificate with 300 other people, or take your chances and go for $1000 cash? Here's what I think:

The FaceBook contest for $1000 to spend on TSC (The Shopping Channel) is a passive contest. That is, players have little to invest in effort and time. They comment on the post anytime between 11:30 and 2, then sit and wait to see if they are (randomly) chosen. The prize is wonderful, yet limiting - you can buy a LOT with $1000, but only what they sell on TSC. So in order to pay bills or pay for a vacation, you will have to buy things and then sell them. But if TSC has something you need, this is a sweet deal! Easy and convenient.

The call-in 1K Double Play contest takes devotion, patience, and quick fingers. You have to listen (live or streaming or checking the Sonic Playlist page every few minutes) all day long. There is no timeframe, other than some time between 6 am and 1 am. Once you see or hear that first Pink song, you are on hyper alert, ears perked, phone(s) in hand, anxiously awaiting the next song. False starts can happen multiple times per day! When it IS the Double Play, the challenge is to NOT screw up the Redialing! Don't hit a wrong button or you have to start all over again. And with an iPhone, one misstep can set you back...well...SECONDS! And those seconds are precious! But if you DO win that $1000 (pure luck, as phone lines get jammed during this time), you can spend it any way you like.

Which would YOU prefer?
